Turin – January 15, 2020
Despite the very short notice, team SEL managed to deliver on time and in full an extra load of tires for the Hankook 24H Dubai 2020.
Hankook, as the official sponsor and sole tire supplier for the 24H Creventic Series, needed to deliver 500 tires more for the event.
The reason was that the weather forecast during the race days (Jan 10-13) were actually supposed to be bad, so the teams would have needed an additional supply of rain tires in order to compete.
The request from Hankook arrived 3 days before the start of the event, in the afternoon of January 7.
Team SEL immediately took action to fulfill the service and, despite the difficulties with the carrier in finding a free space, managed to load the shipment on the cargo flight leaving from Europe on the following day and to have it delivered at the circuit of Dubai before the start of the races on the 10th.
The heavy rains occurred during the race days had strongly impacted the city and the infrastructures of Dubai Autodrome.
For the first time in the event’s history, the full duration couldn’t be completed.
“Hankook was very glad to have been able to provide rain tires to racing teams and, together with the event organizer, expressed his appreciation for the effort SEL put in place finding a prompt solution for satisfyng the very last minute request.” said Francesco Bargelli, SEL Manager. “Unfortunately the rain stopped the race before completion. We are sorry for the early ending of a long-awaited competition as Dubai 24H is. In any case we are pleased to have supported Creventic Series once again with our logistics services.”
