Turin – September 5, 2019
70 crates containing racing motorbikes and sport equipment, 1 fully equipped Pirelli trailer and about 24 fuel drums belonging to the teams of the FIM Motocross World Championship and its suppliers have been delivered today on time and in full at the Afyon Motor Sports Center, in Turkey, for the second-last event of the MXGP season, due to take place this Saturday and Sunday in Merkez/Afyonkarahisar.
The cargo, weighting 35000 kgs only for what concerns the crates, was collected last week by Team SEL at the teams’ and suppliers’ headquarters present all around Europe and transported to the reception point of Sito Interporto in Turin, Italy, for then being loaded on the trucks with destination Turkey. Only the fuel drums were shipped via air freight.
35 are the teams and suppliers being served for this round of the GP, which will feature MXGP, MX2, WMX and EMX races.
Team SEL, coordinated all the transport services within Europe and from Europe to Turkey, the inbound operations in the extra EU country, the unloading and distribution at the circuit and will organize the pick up of the crates after the conclusion of the event.
Only the crates of the teams who took part to the women and European races will be shipped immediately back to Europe via land freight and delivered to the teams’ headquarters.
All the rest will be moved forward to Shanghai, China, for the last event of the season.
“This was a complicated trip to organize from the logistics point of view, especially with the two races in Turkey and in China just one week apart, so there was no possibility of errors or delays. Team SEL will be present at the circuit and at the airport in Istanbul precisely to keep everything under maximum control, so that the shipment will be delivered on Thursday, 12 in Shanghai for the last race of the championship.” – said Roberto Borio, Senior Project Manager.
